Donations of cash or items

Every contribution—big or small—makes an impact.
Thank you for helping us help them and we deeply appreciate your support. Every donation we receive goes directly toward the health and well-being of dogs at the Morrow County Dog Shelter—especially those who arrive sick, injured, or in need of extra care.

While the shelter is funded by the county and supported through dog license fees, these funds often fall short when it comes to urgent or ongoing medical treatment. That’s where your donation steps in—to bridge the gap and give these dogs a real chance at recovery, adoption, and a loving, permanent home.

One of the most common and costly conditions we help treat is heartworm disease—a mosquito-borne illness that is entirely preventable but devastating when left untreated. Treatment can cost hundreds of dollars and requires a long, quiet recovery period. In severe cases, it can be fatal. Your support helps dogs like these get the second chance they deserve.

Haze’s Hope: A Medical Fund for Shelter Dogs

Born out of the overwhelming generosity of donors who stepped up to help a dog in crisis, Haze’s Hope is a new medical fund dedicated to covering emergency and ongoing medical treatment for dogs in the care of the Morrow County Dog Shelter.

The fund was inspired by Haze, a dog who came to the shelter after suffering severe injuries from an attack by other dogs. Thanks to the immediate support of our community, Haze received the critical care he needed. This fund will now allow future dogs like Haze to get the medical attention they deserve—when they need it most.

You can make cash donations via Venmo or Paypal. If you would like your donation to go to a specific cause or fund, please be sure to add a comment to your donation indicating your wishes.

You can also donate by setting up the Kroger Community Rewards Program on your Kroger account to benefit the Friends of the Morrow County Dog Shelter. Donating to the shelter in this manner does not cost you anything, nor does it affect your points, coupons or discounts. The donation is made by Kroger to your selected organization.

  • Log in to your Kroger account.
  • In the upper right hand corner, click on your name and select My Account.
  • Scroll down the page until you can click on Community Rewards in the left column.
  • Click on Find an Organization and use LN897 or Friends of the Morrow Co Dog Shelter and click Enroll.

If you’d rather donate supplies instead of money, the shelter has made it easy! They maintain Amazon and Chewy Wish Lists stocked with items they regularly need—like food, treats, cleaning supplies, and more. Shopping from these lists ensures your donation goes exactly where it’s needed most.

You can also support the shelter through a great local program at Pit Stop 95 (6427 State Route 95, Mt. Gilead, OH). Just call 419-768-3553, stop in, or use the drive-thru to purchase bags of Victor Dog Food for the shelter. We can’t thank the folks at Pit Stop 95 enough for being such a huge supporter of all our local animals!
